Woman, 31, dies in workplace accident at elementary school in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie

Montreal police (SPVM) say a 31-year-old woman has died in a workplace accident at an elementary school in the city’s Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough.

Police received a 911 call at about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday reporting that a worker had fallen from a ladder in the courtyard of the school on Rosemont Boulevard, near Chatelain Street.

The woman was unconscious when she was treated by paramedics at the scene and sent to hospital. A police spokesperson confirmed Tuesday afternoon that she succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

The SPVM says Quebec’s workplace safety board, the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail, is leading the investigation. Police said officials were at the school to analyze the scene.
