Can you describe a typical day in your role as an HSE professional?
My role as an HSE Manager is all about reducing risk and nurturing a strong safety culture – that’s the foundation. Every day, I am focused on ensuring our people are safe and that we are constantly improving the way we work. This means being out on the floor, understanding what is happening in real time, and helping teams recognize and manage risk before they turn into incidents.
My day also has me working behind the scenes, making sure the right programs are in place, aligning with our Bakery’s broader goals, and making sure safety help us perform, not just comply. But none of this can stick unless we build a culture people believe in. The central part of my work is about leading by example, developing others, and shaping a mindset where safety is just how we do things – not something separate from the job.
