An incident occurred in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson when a local resident picked up an unknown object that exploded in his hands. This was reported by the city military administration on their Facebook page.
The explosion happened on the morning of June 23. A 28-year-old man sustained multiple fractures to his left wrist and blast injuries. He was urgently taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Actions to Take When Discovering Explosive Devices
The Training and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety of Kherson Region has prepared instructions describing how to act if you find an explosive device.
Do not approach!
Stop and loudly warn others about the danger if there are people nearby.
Carefully inspect the area for other dangerous objects.
Carefully move away to a safe distance, retracing your steps. If possible, take cover behind the nearest building.
Mark the dangerous area with a visible sign, such as tape or a scarf, but do not approach the explosive device.
Immediately report the discovery to the State Emergency Service at 101 or to the police at 102. Call only after you have moved to a safe distance.
The center emphasizes that you must not use your phone in close proximity to mines, ammunition, or other dangerous objects.
