Ajman Police launches ‘Children’s Safety is a Responsibility’ campaign for parents

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote public safety and prevent home accidents, the Ajman Police has launched a new awareness campaign called “Children’s Safety is a Responsibility”. The campaign targets parents, aiming to raise awareness about the dangers children may face due to neglect or lack of attention. It encourages families to carefully watch their children’s behavior and to be mindful of potential risks, whether caused by the family or by household helpers.

Lietunant Colonel Noura Sultan Al Shamsi, Head of the Media and Public Relations Department at Ajman Police, explained that the campaign was launched to protect children from accidents that often happen because adults overlook small but dangerous situations. These can include children getting into unsafe household items like cleaning products or chemicals, leaving the house without supervision, touching exposed electrical outlets, climbing onto balconies or rooftops, and playing with sharp tools or ovens in the kitchen. Lietunant Colonel Al Shamsi stressed that such accidents can be prevented by closely monitoring children at all times.

She added that the campaign will use various media platforms and social media channels to spread the message. The police will also reach out directly to parents and domestic workers in cooperation with other concerned authorities to educate them about unsafe behaviors and dangerous materials commonly found at home. The campaign also focuses on teaching children themselves what to avoid to stay safe.
