UAE: Follow these guidelines to boost fire safety at homes

Abu Dhabi Civil Defense launches “Hassantuk for Homes” campaign ahead of summer

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority has launched the “Hassantuk for Homes” campaign to enhance residential fire safety.

Through a combination of digital outreach and traditional media, the campaign emphasises the importance of adopting preventive safety measures at home. The Authority is calling on residents to install early warning devices and follow home safety protocols, describing these as the first line of defense in fire prevention.

According to the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, the campaign supports Abu Dhabi’s vision to enhance public safety, achieve high levels of community protection, and contribute to sustainable development goals. Officials said the “Hassantuk for Homes” system exemplifies how modern technology can be used to reduce fire risks through immediate alerts and improved emergency coordination.

The Authority stressed that the installation of the Hassantuk system is a legal obligation for all residential villas across the UAE. This follows UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 61 of 2020, which mandates the integration of the system in all existing and under-construction villas.

What is Hassantuk?

“Hassantuk for Homes” is the UAE’s official wireless fire detection system, tailored for residential villas. Backed by the Ministry of Interior and supported by Etisalat, the system ensures 24/7 monitoring and is directly connected to Civil Defense command centres across the country. Its primary objective is to position the UAE among the safest nations globally.

The Hassantuk system includes a fire alarm panel connected to heat and smoke sensors. Once triggered, it sends simultaneous alerts to a local alarm and the central command centre.

Here’s how it works

  • Fire Detection: Sensors detect smoke or heat exceeding the Ministry of Interior’s safety thresholds.
  • Alarm Activation: An alert is issued, prompting evacuation and notifying the command centre.
  • Verification: The command centre contacts the homeowner to confirm the fire alert.
  • Emergency Dispatch: Once verified, fire crews are dispatched using precise location and contact details.
  • Mobile Monitoring: Homeowners can monitor and manage fire safety through the Hassantuk mobile app, available 24/7 from anywhere.
