A man has died in a Galway workplace accident, authorities have confirmed with an investigation now underway.
The fatally injured man, who is understood to be from Galway also, died following an incident on Thursday May 8.
The victim of a workplace incident in Galway has been named, with shocked locals paying tribute to him.
Brendan Noone from Fohenagh, Ballinasloe, sadly passed away on Thursday, May 8, after an incident at his workplace.
Galway Beo has also contacted gardai regarding the accident.
Officials at the Health Safety Authority had previously confirmed to Galway Beo an incident took place, with an investigation now underway.
After news of Brendan’s sad passing was announced, shocked friends and locals struggled to hide their grief.
Broderick’s Bar in Kilconnell cancelled an event at the pub as a mark of respect to their friend “Nooney.”
They posted: “Due to the tragic passing of our friend Brendan Noone, our poker league and trad session will not go ahead tomorrow night. Rest in peace Nooney.”
One said: “Such sad and devastating news. Thinking of his wife Caroline, his children, and the extended Noone and McDonagh families on the passing of Brendan.”
second heartbroken local said: “Our deepest sympathies on the sad passing of Brendan. A true gent friend and character.”
A third added: “Sending our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Caroline, her children and all the Noone family on the very sad and tragic passing of your beloved Brendan. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace.”
