Saudi Arabia’s Security Sector: Human, Technological Capabilities Envisioning Future of Safety, Security

Riyadh, December 24, 2024 SPA — Since its foundation, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has prioritized security, dedicating its human and technological resources to ensuring its people’s safety, prosperity, and well-being.

This commitment continues under the prosperous reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

With unwavering support from the Kingdom’s leadership and close oversight by Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the security sector has achieved remarkable advancements on all fronts. Citizens, residents, and visitors in the Kingdom now enjoy unparalleled security, stability, and quality of life across all regions, cities, and provinces.

The efforts of the Ministry of Interior and its security sectors have significantly contributed to achieving the strategic indicators of the Quality of Life Program, a key initiative under Saudi Vision 2030. The Ministry met its 2023 targets for the indicators of “Intentional Homicide Rate” and “Level of Trust in Security Services,” both of which surpassed their final 2030 targets, reflecting the Ministry’s success in enhancing public awareness, improving the comprehensive perception of security, and increasing trust in security services.

The Ministry of Interior has implemented several initiatives under the Quality of Life Program, including equipping security forces, developing the “Aman” platform, and establishing pioneering police centres that leverage artificial intelligence and advanced technologies for field security operations.

These efforts have enabled faster responses to security reports, increased public awareness through intensified media campaigns, and significantly reduced crime rates across the Kingdom. They have also enhanced the community’s understanding of comprehensive security and advanced security services.

The Ministry’s announcement of achieving its 2030 targets ahead of schedule in 2023 underscores its high readiness to enhance the safety and security of citizens, residents, and visitors. These accomplishments highlight the professionalism of the security apparatus in safeguarding the nation, improving quality of life, adapting to regional and global changes, and supporting the Kingdom’s developmental achievements.
